Itinerary of the 4-Day Tour from Agadir to Marrakech via Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Agadir – Taroudant – Taliouine – Ouarzazate

We will pick you up from your hotel in Agadir and begin our journey towards Ouarzazate. Our first stop will be in Taroudant, known as the ‘Little Marrakech’ for its red ramparts and vibrant souks. You’ll have time to explore the city’s old medina and enjoy the local atmosphere.

Next, we’ll drive to Taliouine, the heart of Morocco’s saffron-producing region, where you can visit a local saffron cooperative and learn about saffron cultivation.

After lunch in Taliouine, we’ll continue towards Ouarzazate, passing through the stunning landscapes of the Anti-Atlas mountains. Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, you can visit the famous Kasbah Taourirt, a historical monument that offers a glimpse into the region’s rich history.

Taroudant Ramparts Taliouine

Day 2: Ouarzazate to Merzouga Desert

We will start our journey from Ouarzazate, heading towards the Merzouga Desert. Along the way, we will pass through the beautiful landscapes of the Skoura Oasis and the Valley of Roses, known for its annual rose festival and scenic views.

Our route will continue through the Dades Valley, with a stop at the impressive Todra Gorge, where you can admire the towering rock formations and take a short walk along the river.

After lunch near the gorge, we will continue our drive through the desert landscapes, passing by Berber villages and the town of Erfoud, known for its fossils and dates.

Upon arrival in Merzouga, you will experience a camel ride across the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi to reach your desert camp. Here, you can enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars, surrounded by the serene beauty of the desert.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert to Boumalne Dades

We will start the day with a sunrise camel trek over the Erg Chebbi dunes, giving you a stunning view of the desert at dawn. After breakfast at the desert camp, we will depart from Merzouga and begin our journey towards Boumalne Dades.

Our route will take us through the town of Rissani, known for its lively souk and as the gateway to the desert. We’ll continue through the rugged landscapes of the Todra Gorge, where you can take a walk along the riverbank and admire the towering cliffs that rise dramatically on either side.

After lunch near the Todra Gorge, we will continue towards the Dades Valley, driving through scenic roads lined with ancient kasbahs and lush oases. Upon arrival in Boumalne Dades, you can explore the beautiful rock formations of the Dades Gorge, often referred to as the “Monkey Fingers” due to their unique shapes.

We’ll check into our hotel in Boumalne Dades, where you can relax and enjoy the stunning views of the valley.

Day 4: Boumalne Dades to Marrakech

We will depart from Boumalne Dades and drive towards Marrakech, passing through the scenic Dades Valley and the Ouarzazate region. Along the way, you can enjoy the stunning landscapes and traditional Berber villages.

We’ll make a stop at the Kasbah Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to explore its ancient architecture and learn about its history.

After lunch, we will continue our trip over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass.

Upon arrival in Marrakech, we will drop you off at your hotel, marking the end of our tour.
