3-Day Tour from Marrakech to Sahara & Fes Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi n’Tichka Pass – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Valley of Roses – Dades
We will start this 3-day tour from Marrakech to Fes via the Merzouga Desert in the morning. We will cross the High Atlas mountain range, known for its grandeur and beautiful landscapes (sometimes snow-capped all year long) and the small Berber villages perched on its slopes. We will pass over the stunning Tizi n’Tichka Pass (elevation 2,260 m), which is purported to be the highest pass in North Africa. After crossing the mountains, we will take a scenic route to visit one of the best kasbahs in Morocco, the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Next, we will head towards Ouarzazate, nicknamed the “Door of the Desert” or “Hollywood of Morocco,” where many famous Hollywood movies have been shot, including Game of Thrones, The Mummy, and more. We will continue our desert tour, passing through the Valley of Roses, and then proceed to our hotel in the Dades Valley for the night.

Day 2: Valley of Dades – Todra Gorge – Merzouga (Camel Trekking & Desert Camping)
The next morning, we will start the second day of our 3-day tour from Marrakech to Fes after having breakfast and taking a shower at the hotel. We will stop by the Dades Valley, known for its stunning landscape and panoramic views. We will then hike through Todra Gorge, one of the most spectacular gorges and river canyons in the world, renowned for its beautiful rock formations.
We will continue our journey to the desert via El Jorf and Erfoud, heading towards Merzouga. There, we will ride camels (dromedaries) and trek further into the desert to explore the Sahara. We will experience a beautiful sunset and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner in a Berber tent. Afterward, we can relax under the starry desert skies and enjoy the comfortable weather.

Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Medelt – Ifrane – Fes
The camel guide will wake you up to catch the sunrise. You can climb the sand dunes to the top to see the magnificent sunrise and then make our way back by camel to the lodge for a shower and breakfast. We will then start the last day of our 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes via the Sahara Desert of Erg Chebbi. We will pass through the Ziz Valley to enjoy the scenery and take some pictures.
Next, we will continue to explore breathtaking views along the way, passing through the Mid-Atlas Mountains and the pine forests of Azrou, where we might spot Barbary apes. We will have lunch in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” amidst its distinct and unusual backdrop of deciduous trees. Finally, we will reach Fes and drop you off at your accommodation.
