4-Day Tour from Fes to Marrakech

On our 4-Day Tour from Fes to Marrakech, we will pick you up from your hotel or riad in Fes and start with a scenic drive through Ifrane, Azrou, and a beautiful cedar forest. After lunch in Midelt, we’ll continue through the Middle Atlas Mountains and arrive in Merzouga for camel riding and desert camping. Enjoy a camel ride on the highest dunes in North Africa and watch a stunning sunset, followed by a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars.

On the second day, we will wake up early for a sunrise camel trek and explore the Erg Chebbi dunes. We’ll visit local nomad families, share tea in their tents, and learn about their way of life. Discover ancient fossils and rock paintings, and visit Khamlia village to experience the local culture. You’ll also have time to relax and enjoy the dunes and sunset.

On the third day, we’ll travel from Merzouga to Rissani, visit Todra Gorge, and explore the beautiful Dades Valley.

On the fourth day, we’ll drive through the Valley of Dades, visit Ouarzazate, including the Kasbah of Taourirt and Atlas Film Studio. We’ll also visit the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and cross the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech, enjoying the stunning scenery along the way.

Itinerary of the 4-Day Tour from Fes to Marrakech

Day 1: Fes – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga (camel trekking & desert camping)

We will pick you up from your hotel or riad, and we start our 5-day tour from Fes to Marrakech via the Merzouga desert, heading southward via Ifrane and Azrou. During our trip, we will stop at the cedar forest to see its magnificent Barbary Macaques or Barbary Apes, who are friendly and will take food from your hand.

We continue then through the panoramic view of the Middle Atlas Mountains to Midelt, where we will have lunch. Then, we continue exploring the magnificent landscape of the Middle Atlas Mountains and Berber villages, crossing the Ziz Valley with a panoramic view of its nature.

After a beautiful drive through amazing nature, you will arrive at the most wonderful place you will ever see, the Sahara Merzouga. We will arrive at the hotel where you can drop off your belongings if needed, then hop on your camel and enjoy a desert experience of a lifetime in the highest dunes in North Africa.

Explore the Sahara by camel (dromedary) ride and see the beautiful sunset. After a traditional Moroccan dinner at a Berber desert nomadic camp, you can enjoy the sound of silence under the starry desert skies and the comfortable weather.

Day 2: Exploring the Desert of Erg Chebbi – Tea with Nomad Family – Khamlia village

Your camel guide will wake you up to catch the sunrise and climb the dunes to the top to see the magnificent sunrise, and then you will make your way back via camels to the lodge for a shower and breakfast. We will take you off-road to start the special day 4 of the Fes to Marrakech desert tour.

Today we will have an amazing tour around the dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will visit some nomad families, relax and have some tea in their tents, and learn some of their secrets, how they cook, how they live, and more. We will visit fossils in a riverbed, old paintings on the rock, and the big dunes of Erg Chebbi… and most impressively, we will visit the Gnawa people in Khamlia village. These people are Sudanese and Malian Nomads who have settled in Morocco.

The afternoon is free for you to spend at leisure discovering exclusive views and walking on the impressive dunes, sunset, and more.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorge & Valley

The camel guide will wake you up to catch the sunrise and climb the dunes to the top to see the magnificent sunrise, and then you will make your way back via camels to the lodge for a shower and breakfast.

We will start our journey towards Todra and Dades Gorge, and visit Rissani, where you will see a lot of ksours, with its rich souk and palmary. We will continue our trip with a picturesque drive through beautiful Berber villages to Todra Gorge, one of the most spectacular gorges and river canyons in the whole world, with the beauty of its rock.

We will continue through impressive views of Dades Gorge and the breathtaking view of Dades Valley.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

After having a delicious breakfast and taking a shower, we start the last day of our memorable tour. We will drive through amazing nature, including the Valley of Dades, and some old Berber villages.

We will reach Ouarzazate, known as the gate of the desert or Hollywood of Morocco. We will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Atlas Film Studio. Then we will wrap up the tour with a visit to one of the best kasbahs in Morocco, well known as Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site where many films have been filmed, such as Game of Thrones and Gladiator.

On our road, we will cross the massive pass via the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka, driving to Marrakech with fantastic scenery and rich history. We will drop you off at your accommodation.
