Itinerary of the 10-Day Tour to Imperial Cities and Sahara from Casablanca

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Today, we will pick you up from the airport or your hotel. We will start with a visit to the stunning Hassan II Mosque, which is one of the largest mosques in the world. Next, we will head to the Corniche Ain Diab, a beachside area where you can enjoy a walk by the sea. You will have some free time to have lunch at a local restaurant and taste Moroccan food. In the afternoon, we will explore the Old Medina, the historic part of the city with its narrow streets and shops. We will then take you to your accommodation for a comfortable overnight stay in Casablanca.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen

On the second day, we will start with a drive from Casablanca to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. In Rabat, we will visit key sites such as the Royal Palace, the Hassan Tower, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. After exploring Rabat, we will continue our journey to Chefchaouen, the famous blue city nestled in the Rif Mountains.

Once we arrive in Chefchaouen, we will check into your accommodation and then have some free time to wander around the charming blue-painted streets and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this beautiful city.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

On our third day, we will leave Chefchaouen and drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. We will explore these historic ruins and learn about their fascinating history. Afterward, we will travel to Meknes, where we will visit important sites such as the Bab Mansour gate and the historic medina.

Finally, we will continue our journey to Fes, where you will check into your accommodation. In the evening, you will have some free time to relax or start exploring this ancient city known for its rich history and culture.

Day 4: Fes Sightseeing Tour

After a traditional Moroccan breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a morning city tour of Fes with a local guide, the most “genuine” imperial city of Morocco. The royal city of Fes has a lot to offer, so get your cameras and hearts ready.

Touch the old scripts on the walls, and visit the fascinating medina preserved as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; it is the largest medina in the world. Walk through its winding streets and see a maze of alleyways that take you back centuries with an authentic feel.

For a taste of the non-Islamic history of Fes, don’t miss the Mellah, the old Jewish quarter of the medina, built in the 13th century and becoming the first Jewish quarter in Morocco in 1438. Also, visit the world’s oldest university still in existence, The University of Al Quaraouiyine, established in 859 AD by a Muslim woman, Fatima Al-Fihri.

Day 5: Fes – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga (Camel Trekking & Desert Camping)

On the fifth day, we will leave Fes and drive through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be in Azrou, where we can see the famous cedar forests and maybe even spot some wild monkeys. We will continue on to Midelt for a lunch break and enjoy the beautiful landscapes along the way.

After lunch, we will head to Merzouga, where the adventure begins. Once we arrive, we’ll prepare for a camel trekking experience into the desert. We’ll ride camels across the sand dunes and then check into our desert camp for the night under the stars in the Sahara Desert, enjoying a traditional desert dinner and the peaceful desert atmosphere.

Day 6: Merzouga (Explore Erg Chebbi Desert) – Khamlia – M’fis – Desert & Nomads – Merzouga

Today, we will explore the Erg Chebbi Desert in Merzouga. We’ll visit the village of Khamlia, known for its traditional culture. After that, we’ll head to M’fis to see more of the desert landscape. We will also visit a desert and nomad family to learn about their lifestyle and traditions. In the evening, we’ll return to our hotel in Merzouga to relax and unwind after a day of exploration.

Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorge & Valley

We will leave Merzouga and head to the town of Rissani, known for its vibrant lively souk. After exploring Rissani, we’ll continue through the Tinjdad palm groves, offering stunning views of lush greenery amidst the desert landscape. Next, we’ll visit the breathtaking Todra Gorges, with towering rock walls and a beautiful river running through. After some time in the gorges, we will head to the Dades Gorge and Valley, where we’ll enjoy the scenic views and spend the night in a local hotel.

Day 8: Boumalne Dades – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

We will depart from Boumalne Dades and travel toward Ouarzazate, often called the “Gateway to the Desert” and known for its film studios. We’ll continue to the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most iconic locations in Morocco, where many films have been shot. After exploring the kasbah, we will journey through the stunning High Atlas Mountains, enjoying the scenic views as we cross the Tizi n’Tichka pass. In the late afternoon, we will arrive in Marrakech, where you will check into your accommodation for the night.

Day 9: Marrakech Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast at the hotel, we will explore the red city of Marrakech with a local guide. The tour will take you to iconic sites, including the majestic Koutoubia Mosque, the stunning Bahia Palace, and the historic Saadian Tombs. We’ll also walk through the lively souks, where you can experience the bustling atmosphere and colorful shops.

The tour will end at the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, where you can enjoy the lively street performances and local food. The local guide will share stories and history throughout the day, giving you a deeper understanding of Marrakech’s rich culture.
