Fes Desert Tour 2 Days Itinerary
We will depart from Fes early in the morning, heading south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” followed by a visit to the cedar forest in Azrou, where you can spot wild Barbary macaques. We’ll continue through Midelt, enjoying views of the High Atlas peaks, and drive along the impressive Ziz Valley, dotted with palm groves.
By afternoon, we’ll arrive in Merzouga, where the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi await. You’ll ride a camel into the heart of the desert and enjoy a magical sunset. Spend the night in a Berber desert camp under the stars, with dinner by the campfire.

After an early wake-up to enjoy sunrise over the dunes, we’ll return by camel or 4×4 to Merzouga village for breakfast and a quick shower. Then we’ll drive back to Fes via Rissani (optional quick stop at its traditional market), retracing our scenic route through the Ziz Valley and cedar forests.
