Fes Desert Tours 3 Days Itinerary
We will depart from Fes in the morning and head south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture and clean streets. Next, we’ll visit the cedar forest of Azrou, home to wild Barbary macaques.
After lunch in Midelt, known for its apple orchards, we continue our Sahara tour from Fes through the dramatic Ziz Valley, where lush palm groves stretch along the river. By late afternoon, we’ll reach the edge of the Merzouga Desert, where you’ll ride camels across the golden dunes to your camp. Enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars and experience the magic of the Sahara.

We will begin the day by watching the sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. Then, we’ll explore the fascinating surroundings of the Erg Chebbi desert by 4×4. Our journey takes us to visit a nomadic family living in traditional tents, where you’ll enjoy a cup of mint tea and learn about their way of life in the desert.
We’ll continue to the village of Khamlia, a small and peaceful community near the dunes. Along the way, we’ll visit desert mines, fossil sites, and lush oases hidden among the sands. You’ll return to your camp or hotel in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the sunset over the dunes.
