Itinerary of the Overnight Group Desert Tour from Marrakech
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Skoura Oases – Roses Valley – Boumalene Dades
We’ll pick you up from your Riad or hotel in Marrakech and start our small group Sahara desert tour towards the Dades Valley. Our journey takes us through the stunning Tizi-n-Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains, where we stop to enjoy breathtaking mountain views.
Our first major stop is the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, a famous village known for its impressive kasbahs and its role in films like Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Alexander.
After lunch, we’ll continue through the beautiful Roses Valley, famous for its Rose Festival, and pass through small Berber villages like Skoura and El Kelaa des M’Gouna. Our day ends in Boumalene Dades, where we’ll stay overnight in a comfortable hotel with dinner and breakfast provided.

After breakfast, we’ll head towards Merzouga, home to the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes. We’ll make a stop at the Todra Gorge, a stunning canyon with towering cliffs reaching up to 600 meters. After exploring the gorge, we’ll pass through the Berber villages of Tinghir and Tinjdad.
Upon arrival in Merzouga, we’ll leave our luggage at the hotel before embarking on a camel ride into the vast desert. The camels will take us deep into the dunes of Erg Chebbi, where we’ll spend the night in a Berber camp.
The camp is equipped with comfortable tents, mattresses, blankets, and cushions. After enjoying a delicious dinner, we’ll gather around a campfire and experience the magic of the desert night under the stars.
